Mechanical Engineering Student Support

The Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) is a world-renowned space science research institute at the University of Colorado at Boulder. In the engineering division, professional engineers and mentored students work closely with scientists in designing and building space flight hardware.
LASP’s Mechanical Engineering Department is looking for an undergraduate student to create SolidWorks models and fabrication drawings of space-flight hardware and ground support equipment for NASA flight programs as well as fabrication assembly instructions and test procedures for mechanism testing. The student will also be involved in grounds support equipment, fixturing, and simple flight hardware part and assembly design as the opportunity arises.
The ideal candidate is an undergraduate student who is at least 2 years away from graduation in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. This position requires a minimum 3.3 GPA and CAD experience. The time commitment is a minimum of 10 hrs/week during school and full time during the summer.
