FIELD PROGRAMMABLE GATE ARRAY/
EMBEDDED SYSTEMS ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
(FPGA021909)

The Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) has an Electrical Engineering position open starting immediately. Join a design team that develops instruments for use on NASA flight programs. The candidates will be involved in the design and development of unique and innovative aerospace electronics and electrical systems for application in space-flight environments.

LASP provides a work environment that supports employee creativity and productivity. Due to LASP’s small size, there are many opportunities for diverse experiences and a broad range of responsibilities available for its personnel. The engineers work one-on-one with world-renowned researchers to design spaceflight instrumentation on NASA missions to learn more about our Earth, its atmosphere, our sun, and the surrounding planets.

Candidates should be knowledgeable in the design and development of digital systems; with experience in VHDL design and digital design at the board level.  LASP’s digital applications include control and monitoring of solid state detectors; voltage, temperature, and current monitoring; mechanism control; and embedded cores.  The successful candidate must have good organization, teamwork, and communication skills and be able to interface with multi-disciplinary engineers on project teams and create fabrication and process documentation. The candidate will also be responsible for supporting simulation and test benches of VHDL designs, and fabrication, assembly, and testing of all board-level designs. A BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, plus 3 or more years of directly related. Experience with VHDL and simulation environments and methodologies plus schematic capture and circuit analysis tools is required – Actel Libero environment and OrCAD schematic capture experience is highly desirable.

Resumes for this position will be accepted until position is filled. Applications must be submitted through the Jobs at CU website: www.jobsatcu.com and reference job posting #806471. Only applications submitted through the Jobs at CU website will be considered.
